It's a change that I need....

So 5 months after the accident I had where skull fractures, 3 brain bleed haemorrhage, fractured face on one side, and a crainiotomy happened, I see my doctor face to face for the first time. Scar has healed fab on my head, he can't believe I have recovered so much in these months amd when I asked if I can go back to work because I'm ready...... he said yes! One morning a week on phased return to see how I cope. I was so happy with his answer. Fed up of being at home all day bu myself doing housework, walks, and wondering what else I can do to keep busy. My partner takes me every place and I know I can be a pain in the bus at times but I wouldnt be the person I am today without his help in everything he does for me. I wouldnt be as recovered as I am if he wasn't around. I never thought I would be this happy to get back to work I can tell you that. I 😀

Sounds astonishing, can I ask what kind of bleeds you had.

I thought I had already replied to this, sorry. It was .. Left extramural bleed on brain, Acute parenchyma contusion, Subarachnoid bleed, Subdural bleed. X

You've been very, very lucky m'dear ......and well done for pushing forwards only 5 months on. But do tread carefully & keep an eye on your stress & fatigue levels as you make your way back. The trauma of your injuries and surgery is considerable, and the complexity and delicacy of our brains means they need extra special care !

I will do. I have already been spoken to by neurological rehabilitation and my work to say if its getting too much go and have 10 mins in the staff room and I have been told by neurological rehabilitation that I will be tired when I get home at lunch time, so just let myself fall sleep for a bit. I'm willing to do it but I will let you know. Thank you for your I advice c

Hi Sshhh, you’ve certainly been through it, what type of job do you do, like you I returned to work after three months after having a subarachnoid haemorrhage as a senior care assistant but I struggled and within a month I reduced it down to care assistant which was less responsibility and less taxing on my brain, I’m not saying you will be the same we are all different but there are are always options. I eventually had to retire my aneurysm grew so large and pressed on my brain stem so I had no choice, hopefully you will have a good outcome lots of luck and love Alice xx

Hi Alice I am a nursery practioner. I only have to work one morning 9-12:30 for the first 2 months or until I can decide if I want to change the hours or stay the same for any longer. They know exactly how I might feel or be so have given me a good "thumbs up" to go and see how I get on. One week at a time for sure and I will see how I go. Sure I will be as good as I can be. yes make sure you rest when you get home and take things easy, you may find overwhelmed by minor things that never bothered you before, but just take those breaks as and when you need them and lots of luck, let us know how your getting on, love Alice xx
