Does anyone have any information with regards to Stem Cell Therapy and Brain Injury?

I am aware this treatment is not available on NHS so therefore would need to be paid for.

Any information would be appreciated. Thank you for reading.

Kind regards

I looked into it for my husband. There’s lots of private clinics abroad that will take your money to inject you with stem cells. But the evidence is really not there yet.

But there are trials being run on very specific stem cells that are engineered for brain injury recovery. One trial from the Japanese company Sanbio’s showed promise for treating TBI by injecting MSE stem cells into the brain. (None of the commercial clinics will do this) but then their stroke trial had disappointing results.

I would think it will probably be a viable (but not miraculous) treatment in around 5-10 years time.

i think things like dihexa will turn out to be more promising than stem cells - especially considering the cancer risk of stem cells

but dihexa may also cause cancer... such is life
