Waking up from a vibration

I fell as sleep and I knew it only had been 5/10 minutes in then there was this weird noise as if I was going to another universe I was asking myself if I was high Cus consciously I was awake I knew I just tried to fall as sleep so I was confused to why I’m feeling like this my body was vibrating like crazy and the noise was loud as if I was in some like warehouse full of machines I felt weak I knew I could rollover to get any family members attention but my mind wanted me to be at ease and I was telling myself that there would be no point in getting attention but then I disregarded that thought and like forced myself to wake up

Hi Sja01, have been through similar myself. The important thing is not to be afraid. What kind of brain injury do you have? I had post concussion syndrome. The neuroscientist Jill Bolte Taylor wrote about very similar experiences after a stroke in 'My Stroke of Insight.' Many people with narcolepsy experience this too. To put it in simple terms you are experiencing activities in the brain that are usually occurring when you are in REM sleep but you are still awake. Other terms are hypnagogia and hypnopompia that describe similar experiences.

The important thing is that it will pass as your brain repairs over time and there is nothing to fear.

Hi. I'm coming up to 11 yrs post hiccup. Recently I have had two dreams that have resulted in what I guess you experienced. I have never experienced anything like it before. Although disturbing at the time, I would guess they were just vivid dreams. I can't remember the contents of the first, but the second involved Henry the eighth in a zombie state. Both were the type of dream that you jarred into waking. The second, although awake, I couldn't stop responding to characters from the dream. Yer, weird, I know. It was I am guessing, probably lasted less than a minute, but left me miffed for a couple of minutes longer. It was like the dreams were out of sinc with my consciousness. Strange, weird, odd, off-putting, disturbing.....but were only dreams.

We often look for meaning were there is none. Sometimes, although I say the mum answer, "because!" Is never the answer to anything, sometimes "because" is the only answer. Sometimes odd things happen 🍀
