Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum but unfortunately not to having a BI. I fractured my skull and was in a coma for a week when I was 12. 5yrs ago had my brain 'carpeted' (more on this later) as well as 3 frontal lobe abscesses removed with some necrotic stuff too. I'm here to learn.

Hi Scatterbox and welcome..

You've been through the wars with the complex procedure you describe in your profile ; I've (not surprisingly) never heard of 'Carpeting' surgery.

How are you coping 5 years on ?

Hi scatterbox and welcome.

You are more than welcome on this site. Ask away any questuons you may have. You may not get replies straight back and you syre will get several different answers.

That said all the answer will be right but not necessarily becright for you. We all have different effects with bi and not all will be relevant to you.

The one common theme is we are all here to support ant help each other.

Oh and this is agreat place for a rant to let of steam.

All the best ,

Pax

Welcome, got to agree with the other contributors. None of us choose to join this club, but by default we have arrived.

Let's get one bit of advice out in the room, I say it, and others frequently refer to it is the Headway helpline (details pinned to this page).

We all talk from a point of experience, but refer to Headway for professional advice and support, many of us have benefited from their help.

As Paxo says, it is a good place for a rank, but it is safe place to ask anything, or just ramble when we don't really know what it is we are asking, just getting it out helps. We can say things here that we may not say anywhere else, and it gives us strength, courage, and confidence. 🍀

Welcome. On this site you can learn what others with a BI share and even ask questions.

Hi Scatterbox, great to meet you - It can be a huge relief to find this group and reflect on shared challenges - and I'm sure you will be able to use your experiences to help others too.

Hi SB,Welcome. You are in the right place.

We are all a little the same and a little different, just getting along best we can. It is a releif to be where others get it, even if their experience and issues are not an exact match... we are a quirky lot.

Nice meeting you,

Leaf
