Following on from all your comments just recently regarding me writing my 37 years living with and hiding away my TBI.
I've made a start on using a touch pad to write the journey I've been on all these years. I cant communicate my story verbally due to my disability but I can type it. I dont have to think about the story line because I am the Storyline. I've never told my story to anyone ever so I'm taking my time and not overloading myself mentally. I'm finding it quite therapeutic to be honest. My punctuation is shocking but hey ho it's the words that will tell it..thankyou to you all for the words of encouragement all I needed was the right nudge..to be cont......π―π―πππ
Theres a lot for me to type π but will defo make a good read I will write it one chapter at a time I've surprised myself with doing this πππ
Sounds like a very good decision. I always wondered why it's so much easier to write than speak since the RTA/TBI - apparently it's a different part of the brain. Good luck. Keep us all updated!
I've never wrote any story as I cant find the words in my mind to put it on paper but I can write via a touch pad it's so weird.. thankyou for your comment π
Well done for making a start - good luck with it. I always find writing things down is cathartic and helps me to get a perspective on things. Glad you are finding it helpful.
Thankyou I have a writing pad with key words for each chapter i use them to bring it to my head sounds strange. Us TBI survivors have to find other ways in which to communicate as for me I cant tell it verbally ππ
Excited to read. May help us families out in terms of loved ones BI. May provide answers to questions we have, if not just provide an understanding.Good luck!!
Thankyou that's my aim to help others find some understanding with living with tbi. I've hidden my disabilities since I was 11 so I've a vast array of experience living behind a glass wall and just not fitting in π
Great! Looking forward to reading it, Stammers - as you say it will be therapeutic to get it down on paper. Hopefully youβll not get too much writersβ block!
