Hi, there is so much that is still not known about brain injury.
When I worked in forensic mental health, I used to use a time line analysis, initially to help patients understand where things went wrong, and help them to rationalise their illness.
I have had to explain the difference between mental health and that of brain injury when in generic health services. The symptoms are often identical, and even the treatments are often the same. It is the understanding of the cause that makes all the difference.
