I’m four years on from my bleed within the brain caused by an AVM. Recovery is evidently still happening. Has anyone else taken this length of time? I still have a way to go and feel it all comes down to having my balance corrupted. If this stabilises enough I feel I can progress some more. Balance seems to be an issue for many, though I have not come across anyone who has it interfere greatly with independent living. This is something I cannot yet achieve. I’m not independent but don’t see it as my end goal being continuously supported. Has anyone any advice on this matter? Has anyone struggled being independent for any length of time? It’s super frustrating and disheartening. Thank you 🙏

Hi, I was given some balance exercises by the rehab physio. You would need to be assessed by a physio that specialises in BI, as these are usually individualised to be done safely and have achievable goals. You GP should be able to refer you if you don't have any continuing rehab input.
