Few years ago

A few years ago I attended a charity concert and amongst the performers was Emma Bunton.

I blagged my way backstage and received a hug and a kiss.

The photograph was in the local paper and they kindly sent me a copy.

Before the pic was in the paper I was telling ppl and they thought I was on drugs.

I got the last laugh and it’s amazing how many guys never saw the paper.

Going back to the early 90's I was helping out with a children's charity. We managed to blag some tickets for opening of Planet Hollywood in London so the kids could get a glimpse and possible picture with some of the celebs

The kids turned up with parents and carers but as you can imagine it was chaotic. The minions and security staff deemed it too dangerous for the children especially the frail ones and told them they could not come in. Instead gave them some vouchers for another cafe and told them to come back later when the cafe was closed so they could take some pictures.

Obviously disappointed they went off and came back later to find the cafe quiet with the shutters down and everything deserted. Trying to put a brave face on they knocked on the door and were welcomed in - to a huge party !

Apparently, they closed up early so they could get rid of the paparazzi and the celebrities could celebrate the opening. Inside amongst the celebrities were Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, Christopher Reeve before his accident and Demi Moore. Not only did the celebs pose for pictures with the kids but took part in impromptu piggy back races and carried the around and really treated them as special

Somewhere in the UK are some of the most precious pictures not just for the sentimental reasons but how much would someone pay for a picture of the Terminator, Superman, Rambo and John McClain having a piggyback race !

Hey! I had much the same with Natalie Imbruglia a couple of years ago.

Long story, but after my TBI, I had two OT come and see me.

“Have you had any visitors today?”

“Well none since Kylie Minogue and Natalie Imbruglia left, no.”

They thought I was having delusions.

Ho Ho! No, that was my mischievous sense of humour coming back. 😆

So once out of hospital, I just had to meet one of them and relate the story. Luckily I met Natalie and was able to tell her it all. She was insistant I told Kylie the story too. (Should have asked for her mobile no.) 😇

Anyway, I put it all to good use last year with a pic of my arms around Natalie to highlight and promote a solo bike ride all the way back to the hospital and raised over £400 for their neuro critical intensive care charity.

You never know what is possible until you try! 👍
