It's interesting how we connect so naturally with others here and what pleasure it brings hearing of small signs of progress in their loved ones. Thanks for this update m'love ; it's a little spark of brightness and I hope there are many more positives to come..... x

Forgot to say what a kind gesture it was from the TA. I hope that if they're happy for you to send the card, the staff will arrange for it to be somehow placed in your son's line of vision.

Have you heard any more regards the RTA reconstruction D ? xx

Dear Dogsabighelp,

In 'Car' terms, 'It's out the ditch, the bodywork is patched up, the oil has been changed and the battery seems OK. Whether it will actually 'Run'......

In Human Terms, We Are All Delighted, with your Son's Progress and, I know, ALL our Prayers are with you both.

I hate to say this but..... Only TIME will tell and it could, very well, be Years- even Decades- I'm sorry to say. I DO know that Your LOVE, Patience and Dedication will be 'key'... you Patience may be Tested, to near Breaking Point... so long as it's only NEAR. The Road ahead is Very Bumpy, with 'things' you haven't even Seen yet. My Mother both has, and continues, to Help me considerably.... at the moment we are meeting almost daily, I'm in her 'Bubble'.

I live in Supported Living, with my 'own' flat.... I do, my own 'Personal Care', washing, ironing, cooking and cleaning.... (who am I trying to 'Kid!'). I enjoy trying new flavours and have 'developed' a very good Chicken, Rosemary and Black Treacle Casserole- alongside my regular meals

Anyway....enough about ME! Can/ will you keep us all 'updated' on your Son's progress Dogsabighelp? (what sort of dog, by the way? We used to have a Sheltie Collie)

Sending you Both ALL our Love, and Prays

AndrewT

Good news, my wife is in the same situation just having drain tube removed and valve fitted. Just moved from HDU to rehabilitation ward. Its true there is a long road ahead but they are being looked after with the best care and I am sure you can look forward to better times ahead. Good luck to you and keep strong.

I am finding they are getting great care, so hard when you can't visit but have managed a couple of video calls and now tracheotomy removed we can talk a little.
