Vegetative state

My 27-year-old son has been in a persistent vegetative state for the past two years! He is currently in a nursing home! He briefs on his own but has a feeding tube! I feel so helpless

Hello Jason's mum

Thinking of you both.

Please call the Headway helpline on Monday.

All the information is in a pinned post on this page.

If there is anything that we can help you with let us know.

For now I'm sending great big hugs

Sorry I've just noticed that you said mom not mum.

Does that mean that you are American?

If it does then you could also contact the biausa.com at least I think it's .com.

Love n hugs

Then the biausa is probably the best for you although Headway would have no problem with you getting in touch and........let's be honest......they are in a much better position to point you in the right direction.

You are welcome in our family any time any I know that there are a handful of members here who live in the USA..

Love n hugs

Awe so sorry to hear this. Heart goes out to you. Lots of love xx

Hi. As a mum and a daughter my heart goes out to you too!! There is no pretending that this is not a very bad situation, but at the same time you are not completely helpless in that you can continue to help him by visiting him, talking to him, squeezing his hand etc. I'm sure you're doing that already.
