Congratulations, it must feel amazing to have your independence back. I think I'm still a way off driving and it is frustrating, but it is what it is. Take it steady and enjoy your freedom.

Do you know how long it will take for dvla to give your licence back I have my driving assessment with my gp on the 16th March

It's taken 6months for me they wrote to my specialist and then I had to have an eye check then my assessment with a dvla driving place. They told me after my assessment I was allowed to drive and my licence would take about 3weeks to come through. Hope that is some use to you. Good luck x

It may well take more than the 3weeks they suggested.

Did they also say that you can't legally drive until you get your licence back?

My assessors told me that they can only recommend and the final decision lies with the DVLA but they basically stamp the paperwork.
