Replacement TV - strange effect

Our TV decided it was boring being normal and went all LSD rather than being LCD and we now have a purple hue all over the screen.

So we swapped one from a bedroom. However, this is a 32 inch tv rather than the 41 inch we had before.

Everything works fine but I can't look at it ! Don't know why, same brand, same colour set up everything is the same except the size. No problem using a laptop which is much, much smaller.

Boy is it freaking me out - even sat here deliberately not looking at it :-o

And it is a big rugby weekend :-(

This is interesting and would probably have a 'expert' guessing .

The only thing I can think of is you are probably closer to your laptop screen and therefore it's occupying a similar amount of your visual field.

Unfortunately it may be a new TV before the game kicks off.

Forgive a silly question Sos, but I assume you've adjusted Contrast, colour, Hue, Temperature, Sharpness, Backlight, Resolution, Brightness……….. ? xx

It all turned purple apart from a band of normal screen at the bottom.

It went like that for a while last week after my darling wife cleaned it - I won't say anymore.

But it is weird feeling looking across the room at a smaller screen.

No, I meant the 32". If it's the size you could just bring it closer ? Hope you get it sorted before the weekend...….otherwise it's a hasty trip to John Lewis or similar... 🤔 x

Ooops - yes set up the same and then adjusted everything to see if it made a difference,

Rearrange the room to by bringing the TV nearer to watch the rugby - already have some brain damage, don't want to be hit by a sospan (saucepan) :-)

Think it is that conditioning and resistance to change that is throwing me

Highly likely ! Compromise can be a dirty word for people like us. 😲 Glad to see you've found one anyway. Enjoy the rugby Sos. x

The six nations is like a second Christmas for Welsh people - you wait all year for it, involves lots of drinking, shouting and screaming, Waiting to see if the men in red will deliver something or get disappointed :-)

After persevering with the smaller TV last night, it doesn't seem such a problem today.

Bizarre world having a HI may be it is some visual "muscle memory" or maybe with the HI - I just forgot what the previous TV was like :-)

So perhaps it I the size??

I've had no explanation . I've tried watching in black and white.

I manage a tiny bit 2 weeks ago with tinted glasses on.

Yep, one of the frustrations of Head injuries is their bizarre and random nature.

Yesterday decided to cook my wife a fishcake got it out of the box put it on a baking tray and then opened the door, not the oven but the fridge - it seemed like an eternity for the penny to drop as to why there was yogurt in the oven :-)
