Returning !

Hello. I was last on here looking for sound advice, in 2015, after my husband had been knocked off his bicycle- going him a TBI, serious physical injuries and was in a 5 week coma.

We are now 4 years on - still going through the compensation claim, have survived my husband being in rehab and away from home for 18 months after the incident & I’m returning to work after finding I was reduced to PTSD & depression as a result of never stopping to consider our changes in life !!

Thankfully things are moving forward, we are still together & there is a life despite change- if you can embrace and understand those differences.

I hope you are all doing ok 👌 x

I there, so sorry to hear of both you and your husbands journey throughout this life changing traumatic event..No amount of compensation will put right his physical and psychological deficits, or the impact that the episode has had on to you both. But please believe that he will get to a stable level to continue with his life with you by his side ,and perhaps then when you are both so rightfully fully compensated then life might be a little bit more bearable ,and hopeful.

All the best

Mick.

I’m very sympathetic to your circumstances, my TBI, coma and skull Op occurred 5 yrs ago and it has been a challenge for both me and the wife. I do not thankfully feel sorry for myself and I don’t look backwards, I am where I am🤷🏼‍♂️ I fully appreciate I cannot be exactly the same person I used to be but I try to be nicer and more useful than I used to be. I did restart a business 2 yrs ago, and aside from that I have befriended an 82yr old chap with Parkinson’s and a volunteer driver for the local Hospice. I hope your hubby is able to focus on next week/month/year etc and get involved in what he decides he will enjoy and get some satisfaction from.

I appreciate it is very tough for you to now be married to a different individual. I’ll try and get my wife to contact you, she will be of far more use to you than I am😊
