Leg question

Hi,

This will be a random question, I suffer with a swollen sensation in my right calf. It’s not actually swollen just feels as though it is. Also behind the knee on the inner side it hurts, it quite a discomforting sensation. I use to think the behind the knee sensation was more tendon/ligament over being muscular. Does anyone have any experience of this going on?

If I elevate the leg it does help but only for that moment.

It’s been going on since January this year and now starting to grind at me. I don’t think the go will know anything which is why I haven’t gone.

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have 😁

Why do you think we will know better than your GP? They are qualified and will know who to consult if they don't.

Please go to your GP as they can ref you to a physiotherapist and if any thing is wrong the physio will detect it. Regards Liz 🌹

Hi Jo. I had a similar sensation in my calf when I was pregnant (many moons ago) but I remember it because it was a strange sensation. Mine turned out to be phlebitis and treatment was regular elevation of the leg and NSIADs for a couple of weeks. I only mentioned this as I know you've had problems with mobility which can be a factor in phlebitis.

But you need the correct diagnosis before finding what will work for you ; your GP should spot the problem or, if not, refer you to someone else who can. Take care m'dear…...love Cat x

Hi Waves, had a very similar thing, went to the GP he referred me to a physio consultant who had no idea what it was. The condition got worse over time to include the side of the leg, knee, calf and curling of the foot and toes. I mentioned it to a physio who was working on head tension and she just said ' oh I know what that is.' Turns out it is a lower spine problem affecting the nerves going into the leg, sciatic etc. She could relieve the sensation however it just comes back after a period of time, basically the spine problem needs sorting. It gets expensive over a long period of time. Now for the good news, I was trying out the bare foot grounding method for my BI and noticed over a short time that it relieved the lower back and leg symptoms. 20 mins twice a day will save £100 a month.

Don't knock it till you try it.

Hi all, I went to the gp as it was really getting to me. As expected they did not know what it could be. I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone else had any stories to share with similarities. I have come to realise that a lot of my bizarre symptoms seem to stem from my brain bleed. It’s the route to most my symptoms... Thank you for all your posts/replies. I was prescribed some ibuprofen gel as I cannot be prescribed any painkillers only paracetamol due to the bleed. I hope it helps 😁 Jo

Hi Waves, As others have said could be something or nothing, but you know it is best to see Doc. I kept getting cramps and went once I banged foot on floor, another person told me to drink Tonic water. I went to docs in the end. Stopped me stressing out lol he said cramp I asked him is it okay to drink Tonic waters Docs answer was "as long as no gin in it".

See Doc put mind at ease xxx
