Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH)

I have discovered that I suffer from Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) and had to have a vp shunt inserted. Instead of summing it up as brain problem, can we be specific so as to channel the right support and treatment? I have no blood pressure issues but Cerebral Spinal Fluid pressure problems. WE HAVE TO KNOW ABOUT THE CAUSE OF OUR HEALTH PROBLEMS INSTEAD OF SUMMATIONS.

Can I ask what symptoms you had.

Headaches, Drowsiness, Vomiting, Sensivity to light, Seizures and Dizziness were the symptoms I had. Do not rule out fatigue...

Madiepetsana ive also been diagnosed with IIH in January. No shunt but 2 lumbar punctures, the last one I’m not really recovering from. I’ve lost 13kg since Jan and still working hard to lose the last 18kg. Apparently I was overweight which is a huge contributor to IIH. ANyway, best of luck with your treatment!

Hi Jod13. Hope you are doing fine with your treatment so far. I have had no problems since then and have discovered that taking things easy helps. Keep well!
