Since my assessment at home last Friday with PIP, I came across the original award today & it says I was awarded PIP until June 2019, now I'm really confused x

Phone them on Monday Sam and ask how the recent visit relates to an award in writing covering you 'til 9 months ahead ! 😕

I can't see how they can argue with their own notification...….. but if they ask to see it make sure you've a photocopy ; don't part with the original...…. x

Thanks Cat, was thinking about phoning them but maybe I'll wait to see outcome of assessment & take it up with them should I need to. I'm just to tired to even think straight with these assessments.. my daughter is over my elder daughters or my sister's & I just need to sleep more than ever x

Sam, do you get help from your GP with the fatigue. It's the main symptom I know, but yours seems extreme after 2.5+ years. x

Do you get ESA as well? I seem to remember that it wasn't clear in my re assessment letters which the face to face was for??

I do get ESA & have another assessment with them this Thursday. I'm finding everything so hard with these assessments & feel absolutely KO'd. They have a job to do & I just want to be left alone

Maybe you are expected to have some miraculous recovery??. At my tribunal the judge said my PIP was for 5 years with supervision. It's a good job I get my OAP next October. Could be McVeigh will change her mind ( again) .she's offering olive branches at the moment. There's even 'buts', attached to that though. She must think we're all doolally ànd can't see through her. Take care and good luck. Dave

PIP are looking to reassess awards months before the end date, this appears to be in response to trying to deal with the workload over DLA to PIP plus all new PIP claims.

It's not clear what triggered your reassessment but an award can be reconsidered at anytime during the award period.

Normally if you have an award, you will be sent form AR1, which is a abbreviated version of the original claim form.

Some basic information here:

citizensadvice.org.uk/benef...

One important factor for the claimant is to have your a new award to follow on without a break in payment.

PIP would say it's necessary to do it now to ensure your reassessment is processed in time, as their workload has meant there have been long delays in processing all new claims and ongoing awards.
