PIP and other ‘benefit’ claims

Regarding PIP and other ‘benefit’ claims, I recommend going to the website:

benefitsandwork.co.uk

They are brilliant in my opinion. They provide resources to help you make the best application possible. There are some free resources but I strongly recommend paying the reasonable membership to get access to the very in-depth PIP guides and all other benefits guides. There’s also forums as well for asking questions.

Hope this helps someone out there struggling with all those forms and questions, as it has really helped me with my claims.

I should add that they have advice and guidance for all stages of the process including appeals and reviews…

The PIP guide (available via membership) does indeed help to make you focus on the facts to score the necessary points. The difference between 0 points and more than enough points isn't that great.

I would second this, the guidance and example answers are so helpful.

thanks for this I will look as I have been advised that my "I am coping, because my partner does most things for me" is not sustainable!

it sounds tricky, especially as I will also need help applying!

Oh yes! Definitely take a look- the idea that your partner ‘does stuff for you’ is one of the things that they help to address in their advice and guidance, as this is Personal INDEPENDENCE payment and what would happen if your partner wasn’t there!?

And definitely mention in your application that you need someone else to help you with the form.

Good luck and although it’s hard work, persevere with it.
