I’ve had my vp shunt fitted about 4 months ago and a couple months after getting it placed I’ve been throwing up whenever i eat and if I do managed to eat something I’ve stopped liking the foods I used to eat and everything new I eat I dislike as-well is this due to the shunt or should I try more research to see what the cause is ?

HI Lisa. I have a VP Shunt too but fortunately haven't experienced this. I presume your problems started at the same time your Shunt was fitted. Could there be any other cause of your sickness? If not I would definitely speak to your Neuro and ask for some advice.

I’ve also had a shunt fitted almost 3 years ago. My taste buds have changed also . I think it’s because we eat based on smell and as the Brain has rewired also it effects all senses .
