Two weeks post shunt

i can’t believe how well I now feel just two weeks after having a shunt fitted. Yes my head still nips as the wound continues to heal but wow, I feel so good, so much more positive and willing to give things a go. I’ve been painting the garden fence today with headphones in listening to my tunes. It makesme realise how unwell Ihave been since my sub-dural haematoma two years ago. The hydrocephalus must have been a feature since not long after the surgery. I now feel as if I’m starting to reviver properly.

that’s so good to hear. I’m waiting on a date for my shunt operation and I’ve heard so many conflicting stories about how successful it is,

Helena I have suffered from awful headaches almost since my brain injury two years ago. I think I probably needed the shunt long before now. I can’t believe the difference in the way that I feel since having the operation. Don’t get me wrong, there’s quite a bit of nippy pain in both my head and my stomach though my stomach has now almost fully settled. The head nipping can be a bit distracting but it is just everything healing and Ibuprofen sorts it out. If I were you I would embrace the surgery. Good luck.
