Dealing with anxiety and memory loss.

Living with TBI has made me very anxious. I cannot claim benefits as I do not know how to start. I have written to my MP Conor Burns and the Citizen's Advice Bureau as well as DWP but they do not help at all. So I depend on the goodwill of friends.

It is difficult to live with TBI as employers seem to reject applications, so I would need some help with my CV to get back to my department. I used to work at the Department of National Heritage (now called DDCMS).

Just because I have got TBI does not mean I am useless. My wife has also got TBI and she is also quite confused about life in the Hostile Environment. We want to make the UK=OK! and end the hostile environment for disabled people.

Everyone is suffering so much and I am very anxious but Theresa May doesn't have a gestapo yet so perhaps we can live in hope. I hope someone could help my wife and my son come to the UK and join me and my daughter. We are a happy family but we are separated by the Hostile Environment policy.

Disabled people born in the UK like me do not need a hostile environment as it is making me anxious as I get older and forget things. I remember better times when I used to get my tax credits in my bank account. I remember when there was a local tax and benefits office.

Who can help me deal with anxiety and memory loss and fix everything?

Ask your doctor to refer you to social services. A social worker can help you fill in all the forms for claiming benefits. Otherwise go to the Citizens Advice Bureau, they can can also help.

Thank you very much. I am getting more confident to ask my friends to help me fill in the forms and I hope we can work all this out. This site and your reply really helped.

Use Headway. They helped me apply and also to challenge decisions. I am in Kent and Headway told me about Kent County Council giving me an allowance to help with rehabitation costs, eg physio, socialising, Headway costs. Ghey gave me a buddy to ho with me to meetings or yo just go for a coffee and to help with admin at home. They help with form filling. Do you have a Headway drop-in centre?
