I had been challenged by the woman who runs the BI group I go to to run 10k this week for her to sponsor me an extra £5 to run 10k in April. All money goes to the BI group. This morning I set myself task of doing it how ever long it took or whatever. I managed it in 1 hour 41 min. I’ve recorded it on a running app to show I did it.
I’m going running with the man who set group up on Thursday. He’s been encouraging me and going for runs with me to help me towards 10k in April. He has been cautious not to expect too much of me and not push me too much which has led to me pushing myself to prove him wrong many times. He had said we would do 8k on Thursday and despite me being keen to try further he stuck to it. After seeing I managed 10k today he’s agreed we can do more than 8k if I’m ok which I guessed he would say. So now I’m going to push to do another 10k Thursday.

most distance runners, rather than run the distance theyre training for, run but do different types of running,eg fartlek training, theyll sprint for say 3 lamposts then jog for 3, the idea of this is to build up stamina.
they will also prepare their bodies, by stretching running on the spot to get themuscles warmed up to injuries.
not wanting to be negative, because its great what youre doing, ease back, youve got a long way to go until the race and i want to read your story on here about how you cracked with a pb below 1hour.
diet plays another part in training, pasta rice chicken fish fruit veg.
I never thought I ever would but got talked into doing bits of running which would likely of never got to any more. Then man who set up BI group I go to offered me personal training which made me push myself to do more. He stopped doing weekly sessions last month but now I’m focusing on training for 10k in April and he’s going to go on few runs with me before then. So I’m sure you could if you want to but it can be boring on your own.
