PiP: Hi, Has anyone had to complete the new PiP... - Headway
PiP
red spinel youve ob
viously been on dla a long time. i filled in my pip form 41/2 years ago got called for assessment was given higher rate care and was told i would have to do a paper assessment at the 3year stage, once again i got called for a 1to 1 face to face, im waiting for the result.
a friend of mine is bricking it because hes on dla higher rate care and mobility, neither of which hes actually entitled to now.
i think its about time the dwp dealt with some of the lay abouts who have been scrounging money off the tax payer unlike the genuine people with problems who are genuine.
That's a tadd negative of you. I worked for 30 years before my brain injury.I'm shocked at the number of people who have lost their payments , even though they are disabled, simply chaning the rules does not change a persons disability
Hi there.
I swapped last year and after the horror stories and the problems I had initially with the dla forms I sought help from the cab.
So glad I did. It took a full day filling out the forms. Ok I needed quite a few breaks and kept getting confused. Thankfully the person at cab was patient and explained in detail each question.
Along with this I allowed total access to my medical records.
I then prepared for the interview.......That never cam. I was granted a straight swap onto same level from dla to pips.
I know I am one of the few not to battle as a lot of my disability is hidden.
Have faith, get help and send all supporting info....Oh and good luck.

Yes I was on mid rate dla and I've actually been moved onto higher rate pip. I think new pip is more easier for physical symptoms of BI, than the mental problems.
I had assessment and changed straight over. Good luck.
red_spinel I had a lifetime DLA award and did the switch to PIP in August this year. I had to complete the forms and was called for a face to face assessment. Do you have specific questions?
