Think of your worst day and talk like every day is that way.
Jimmy's right Jason. Good days are pounced upon and often blown out of all proportion, so stick to worst day scenarios. I was penalised once for looking 'clean & smart' so maybe further food for thought.
Make notes of all your issues and don't be afraid to use them openly. There's nothing worse than remembering a key point as you're leaving...…..easily done when you're under scrutiny. And remember it can help to be accompanied by a family member or friend.

Good luck and let us know how you get on. Cat x
Have someone with you, possibly someone with PIP knowledge.
Unfortunately the assessors seem only records information that give people zero points and then if you appeal to an independent tribunal, where it’s done fairly, you usually get the correct amount of points for PIP entitlement.
I agree with cat3, any talk of a good day will definitely make it in to their report.
If possible have paperwork from doctor, hospitals, etc.... and send a copy in to DWP as well - the assessor may read it and sound/look interested, but it does not mean they will add it in their report.
All the best for your interview and let us know how you get on.
Hi Jason
If you can take someone with you that would help as they can support you and talk it over with you afterwards.
You should have sent off supporting paperwork with your claim but if you have had anything paperwork to support your claim since take it with you.
They will ask you questions relevant to the questions on the claim. They will ask you if you have these problems all the time and how long it takes you to perform tasks.
What problems are you basing your claim on?
Hi Jason,
As a nurse I accompanied a lot of people to these interviews. Please do not mention anything about good days or how much you have improved. I always found they were only interested in the things you were unable to manage alone or not manage at all. They would emphasise the importance of payments for an individual needing assistance with all personal tasks even down to simple things like washing yourself and your mobility.
I accompanied people with learning disabilities who were refused because their mobility and personal abilities to participate in the 12 activities of daily living were considered too good. Then I would accompany end of life and cancer patients who would emphasise their positive side of caring for themselves and again would be refused.
I advise you to research, on the internet, the 12 activities of living by Roper, Logan and Tierney. Any questions please just ask me and I wish you luck. Just keep emphasising your disabilities and need for assistance to achieve anything.
I wish you peace, happiness and a hell of a lot of luck my lovely.

8.45am Atos just canceled my assessment due at 10am. For someone with a brain injury it's a digesting disgrace, family traveld 50 miles to take me to appointment and canceled an hour before. Fuming, been stressed out for 2 day just at the thought of a cross examination. What do I do next?
If you provided a lot of supporting evidance and wrote additional pages then be prepared to wait whilst the assessor reads it.
I had to wait over an hour and ended up face down outside on the grass waiting.
Bright flickering lights in the waiting room and I just needed to lay down.
System is all about physical disabilities so the questions and your answers will not match. Do not be forced into an answer that you do not know or cannot answer.
3 hours for somebody with fatigue, took me a week to recover.
Do not be put off by the assessor saying that you can appeal even before you have sat down.
Still waiting for my results, but expecting to have to appeal.
If a good day if dependent upon something else. Like not working. Then you have no good days. They do not take it into consideration.
Got it wrong my appointment is today at 10am can't remember anything, my short term memory is no longer working
They just canceled my assessment 1 hour before it was due
Hello my lovely,
I’m so sorry you are being treated so appallingly. If I were you, obviously you don’t have to do what I suggest if you don’t want to my love. But at the first opportunity I would get myself to the Doctor or A&E and claim health issues due to the worry of the appointment and then being let down by them. Remember you have a head injury so this would be completely understandable and almost expected. Things that could be affected by the cancellation are memory, ability sleeping and remember anxiety and stress commonly increase pain. A Doctor can document evidence of any symptoms or conditions you experience on your notes.
I wish you peace, happiness and luck my lovely,
Vikki
Exactly the symptoms I have had caused by the pending cross examination by the Stazi. I will do as you have said as in my opinion it has has a detrimental effect on my health.
Let me know how you get on. Remember pain can affect your ability to mobilise, especially walking any distance or up stairs. Headache can create a whole day or night of serious problems. It’s hard to think anything when you are in pain. It is also difficult to have any kind of daily life if you are constantly fighting pain and trying to be the person you were. But it is all these changes that affect your ability to get through each day, that will help you get awarded your claim. Anything I can help you with just ask my love. After what people like us have been through we deserve whatever we can get.
