Hi,

Im sorry you're upset about this.....I can see why. I feel so sad when I hear the news that my hubby has stopped me watching it......there are so many things which could and should be done differently. All we can do is offer what help we can, and sign petitions or write to MPs or organisations to seek change. I can't even bear to read some things I hear about never mind watching t.v. . I understand how you feel. Hope you can get it out of your mind and have a peaceful night. Music is sometimes good to take your mind off troubling thoughts. Take care

I know how you feel but somehow I manage to put it out of my mind for long periods. I try to salve my conscience with signing online petitions that I usually find through facebook. It hurts when I think that so many animals are forced to suffer but weigh that against the fact that I probably wouldn't be here without animal experimentation. Is it worth it? I believe every life has equal value but no doubt I will still seek help if I get another tumour and I still eat meat.

My latest thing is being unable to drink cows milk. I watched the Simon Amstell programme on iplayer called 'Carnage' and it's making me consider going vegan again. I did 10 years ago but didn't have the knowledge I have now about food substitutes for nutrition. When you see how animals are treated for human consumption it is heart-breaking. If you are not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Sad but true :) :)

Yes! I am vegan, when I found out how cows are treated in the dairy industry. Heartbreaking.

I know, it's so cruel. I have a TBI and I don't want these things done in my name!!!

You can join the Dr Hadwen Trust who work to eradicate animal testing in medicine.

It's good to be aware though, that no matter how much we are suffering- animals have suffered in medical testing, with no benefits to them at all.

It is sad that animals have to be used in this way for our benefit, but without them many of the advancements in medicine couldn't have happened and we'd be suffering far more instead. Any drug you take will have undoubtably been tested on animals before eventually on humans to make sure it is safe and to gain knowledge about how it works. Would you rather they subjected humans to brain injuries instead or would you prefer there not be any advancement in the understanding/treatment of brain injuries?

The use of cell cultures grown in a lab environment is a good development and there may come a time when animal testing is no longer a necessity. In the meantime, the solution isn't to attack researchers but to support and advocate for viable alternatives. I wonder how many of these protesters drive cars, turn their heating on and cook their own food, all the while burning fossil fuels contributing to climate change that threatens the survival of whole species of animals? Likewise, the solution to climate change isn't to ban all fossil fuel usage, but to advocate for and support viable alternatives energies like wind, solar, wave, etc.
