Numbness

Today my head feels very heavy and a numbness all around my head, plus "clogged ears" and earache. Is this normal after a SAH?

Sounds to me like sinusitis, something that has been plaguing me for the last 3 years. I'm only free of it during the summer months or when away from Manchester.

But, you need to go to your GP, I'm not medically trained but it's how I feel. It badly affects my balance because it affects my ears, and all around my eyes. I feel like my head is going to explode sometimes.

Hi Pammy. Funnily enough I've had this now for over 5 years (since SAH). But I have a new GP who weighed up my symptoms and decided it's a sinus issue.

So I have saline spray and antibiotic cream but was warned it could take 3 months to clear. I was a regular smoker pre-bi so I assumed my symptoms were related to suddenly stopping, as bronchial or sinus issues are common for the first year after cessation.

I do sympathise. The general feeling of clogged up-ness can be wearing, especially with the accompanying headaches.

As Janet suggests, see your GP ; I've found the spray great for clearing the head. It's only saline, but what a relief after spraying into the nostrils then blowing the nose ! It's basically a washing process.

I get the clogged ear feeling....and the pain sometimes feels like a tight band around my head like my brain is akin to a king sized duvet been stuffed in a very small washing machine

I get the clogged ears/headaches a lot. Best relief is having ears syringed and using a sinus wash machine. Headaches don't totally go but for a time are much better.

Got the clogged ears, buzzing and smells yuk every perfume stinks and my duvets when washed smell of chemicals and not nice. Using a baby wash to wash clothes in and my family say "You don't smell when I think they smell" Never me always them lol xxxx Bless them xx
