Lately, I have been experiencing numbness on the left side of my head and face. It usually lasts for 2-4minutes. It feels so strange. Has anyone experience this before or is experiencing this as well?

A best guess is that your body is undergoing stress which has activated the normally dormant herpes virus. Look up bells palsy. If you ignore this and continue to experience stress, it may progress into something more serious like bells palsy.
The virus (the herpes family includes many types) can remain tucked away in residual places around the face, often after experiencing chicken pox as a child. Later in life, growth factor is not rushing around our bodies repairing everything it finds, cell replacement slows, recovery to homeostasis or a balanced state is slower and more intermittent.
Any nerve issues should not be ignored and should be treated with a proactive approach to support nerve function including but not limited to, a multivitamin B OR a vit B6/B12 OR the many variants of vitamin B with other vitamins like zinc depending on your past health. A good co-factor or supporting supplement to vitamin B for nerves is magnesium which can help to relax the muscles. So the vit B treats the nerves where the virus is travelling about trying to jump from nerve plexus to nerve plexus (that is its nature) and the magnesium treats the muscle which the nerve sits in. (Muscle twitching often occurs). Another beneficial vitamin is vit C which supports the immune system (great for defence against coughs colds and flu).
If you are to treat the underlying issue, you must address the health condition which feeds the virus, stress / sugary foods / adrenaline rushes. By practicing mindfulness relaxation twice daily for anything from 3 - 10 minutes, you will bring with intention, the body back to balance and calm, deepening breathing and manually maintaining stress levels. Also regular short exercise or walk around the block is as good as.
Look up trigeminal neuralgia.
Your comment 4 days ago (which I've just read) suggests the above advice is accurate for you. You wrote "The not knowing if I will get better enough to return to work is what is nerve racking to me. " You describe your thoughts as nerve racking. That is exactly the state the herpes virus thrives in and the noise it makes when it moves around tingling!
Remove your stress. Phone Samaritans and talk your worries through with an impartial distant person. After you put the phone down, make notes in your diary regarding what the essence of your stress is and how you can reduce or remove it by making certain changes to your life.
As with any advice, take what is true for you, and discard the rest if it does not have a good vibe for you.
Best wishes.
Thank you for sharing, I’m currently not taking any vitamins even though the doctor recommended I should. After reading your post I went out to cvs and picked some up. I definitely need to relax more and try to get plenty of rest. It’s just so difficult for me to do it. But I will try my best to do some mediation.
Hi Chloe. You don't mention any details of your concussion i.e. how long ago the injury happened or the whereabouts of the impact. I'm wondering whether the numbness could be nerve damage,
But best to get yourself checked out, starting with your GP. Good luck m'dear. x
My injury occurred a year ago from an automobile accident. I hit the back of my head on the head rest. Ever since been experiencing headaches, numbness, difficulty writing and speaking, memory loss, balancing, making decisions, irritability, sensitivity to light and nausea. I have had nerve examinations done and they have come back negative and my CT scan came out negative. I made an appointment with my doctor so hopefully I’ll get some answers to why this is happening to me.
Yea, I gave myself a concussion in Nov 18 and have had sporadic numbness since but in different parts of my body, all on the left side. My upper arm, cheek, foot, hip and knee have all been affected I just assumed I was misfiring somewhere so it's not bothered me much to be honest, haven't mentioned it to docs.
Yes I get it when I’m feeling unwell or run down. It’s always how I know I’m not well first. It’s so strange and only started after the BI. I get it on the left side of my face which is my weak side.
