Just thought I'd write a positive story.

I've recently moved into a house at the top of a steep 600ft hill.

I've worked out that 50 climbs is equivalent to Everest

I after climbing it it twice a day I am now half way up Everest!

Summit will be reached on the .3rd of October

That is one steep hill Paul! No doubt it will keep you fit. Much more pleasant conditions than ascending Mt Everest. Looking forward to hearing more about your achievements on 3rd Oct..

Keep on enjoying your unusual challenge.

As a child I lived on one side of a very steep hill (only 250ft!) with the town on the other side. Not having a car meant that I had to carry all the shopping up and over the hill - which must be why, rather than genetics I have arms like a gorilla :-)

I also live the other side of the hill to the shopping centre. It was fine when I first moved in ; didn't even notice it.

But these days I have to brace myself, especially for coming back with arms full of shopping (go for a paper ; end up like a pack-horse).

I won't use the car because I know how important walking is but, honestly Paul, I DO sympathise !!

I suppose beneath all the huffing & puffing there are hidden health benefits ?? :x :x Love Cat xx

walking up steep hills is probably the only walking I do that i'm still a fast walker, used to walk at 4+mph I can on the flat be overtaken by little white haired grannies carrying their shopping... But revenge is mine on a steep hill, no longer do I have to ask people to slow down! most can't keep up.

600ft is a good old incline, I used and still use exersize, both before and after the accident, It helped me get back on my feet, and i'm very pleased that on a slower/cheaper bike I've been able to equal or beat my pre accident times!
