Seizures can mostly be controlled with medication. The Barons last reply explains them very well.

I started having them last year just before I had the tumour removed, I was given the anti seizure medication last October and have only had two seizures since then. I haven't had a seizure since March.

I was originally taking Keppra but that wasn't working out so I was switched to Epilem which has been working out so much better for me and fingers crossed it will continue to do so.

Sanju, my friend's daughter was having seizures 3 or 4 times every week after a brain injury but, since receiving the medication which was compatible for her, she has been permanently seizure-free.

It sometimes takes a while to match the patient with the right medication but I hope your brother in law is fortunate enough to find one which suits him without too much delay. xx

I had a subarachnoid haemorrhage in 2005, my seizures started about 2 years later.... I now take 2 types of anti epilepsy tablets daily... I have recently had one reduced and had another seizure on Tuesday... looks like I am going to be taking the original dose for the foreseeable future then....
