Sorry you are still in pain and discomfort. I, like you can't wait for the warm weather.

Our garden is my scantury and in the winter months I miss it so much.

Over the next few weeks we will start (royal we...I mean hubby) to plan the very small veg plot we have and sort the greenhouse ready for our veg/salad and fruit.

I love the photo of staithes. Back in the day Whitby was a massive favourite of ours.

These days we go to Oxenhope in North Yorkshire and enjoy the countryside walks and surroundings.

I know there's a rain dance...do you if there's a summer dance, not sure I could do it mind!!! Roll on sunshine and warmth ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

Take care and I do hope the pain is manageable.

That doesn't sound right Dillm. You only had the steroid injection about a week ago. When I have mine it takes effect after 7-10days and lasts for about 4-5 months.

I'm sorry you're still in pain ; have you talked to the clinic doctor or your GP about its failure ?

It's still possible that the effects haven't fully kicked in yet. xx

I assume that the jab won't affect sciatica ; Neuroma but it seem possible that as you say the jab for the hands may not have kicked in

It's just I had two days without discomfort followed by pain and tingling in both hands

The pain relief has just made the pain manageable

Best wishes

Been unofficially advised by members of patients forum @ gp's sreoid injection has various success rate from no relief through to six months

It's certainly not the perfect remedy, but I find I get around 8 months of relief per year when I can function and have only minimal pain.

I've been offered an injection every 4 months instead of every 6, but it would increase the risk of bone damage so I'm sticking with the half-yearly for now.

I'm so sorry about yours Dillm ; I really though you'd have some relief by now. I still think there's time for it to take some effect (I've known it take over a week) but if not maybe you could discuss trying a different steroid, though it's debatable whether one is more effective than another.

I have methylprednisolone, but I think the choice is just a matter of preference of the practitioner.

Is Gaberpentin an anti-inflammatory ?

in reply to cat3

It is a treatment for nerve pain

Which I take for Sciatica (which I was told would go away after 6 weeks that was 5yrs ago ) and for the Mortons Neuroma ) I would assume that Gaberpentin does a similar job

My Hand feels as if someone is sticking a knife in it

Thanks for your support

That's what I'm getting with the arthritis now the steroid's wearing off ; I describe it as broken glass in the joints.

Roll on Spring..............and better days for us all Dillm.
