Just noticed this...?

Hi All,

Iv noticed something that I didn't do before my BI and its seems really weird. When I eat I have to close my eyes...? Never noticed it before but caught myself doing it this Friday. Being a builder we stop at 10am and 1pm and usually eat in my truck or on site in a room but on Friday one of the lads said to me Nick why do you close your eyes while you eat...? I said I don't know do I then I remember doing it in the hospital after my accident and that I was doing it at home. I tried last night to eat with my eyes open and it felt rally strange so I closed them.

Does anyone else have this problem not sure if its a problem really but I really need to concentrate when I'm eating so I wondered if this is why I close my eyes. XX N

Not thought about this, I know I have to swallow very carefully and really think about it when I do is I start to choke. I'll try and remember to examine how I do things now and see if there are any changes.😀

Didn't have this exact problem but what did happen randomly for a long time was eating with knife and fork in various hands and positions.

It always stopped me in my tracks and I had to spend time working out what felt right.

I seriously doubt I could have found my mouth with my eyes closed back then and trust me on this one I have a seriously big mouth at times. Lol

It's all part of the rewiring that's going on.

No but my balance is heavily dependant on my sight so I try to avoid closing my eyes.

Thats an interesting point. I have a building company and never used to have any problem with heights but on the scaffold the other day and it wasn't the same, I really had to concentrate up there and it didn't feel comfortable. Was never a problem before felt the same on a scaffold as I did on the ground. Hopefully its something that I will learn to get used to.

Yes pal! I do this often, now you've mentioned it I didn't used to do this prior to injury.

My friends family/family always laugh at me noticing I do it on social meals out in restaurants.

I personally recognise myself doing it every time I have a Ruby. I find closing my eyes inhances the sences so it tastes even better than normal...
