Baron 2...
Just Googled them and had a preview of the whole collection. Love these guys.
All we've had here is a statue of Frank Sidebottom ; hardly a historical figure !
Is that railway bridge behind still in use ? It's really pretty ; reminds me of Chester.
xx
That's not a railway bridge. It's actually an archway that still stands from the Roman occupation of 'Lindum' later know as Lincoln. It's one of many landmarks, a mere stone's throw from the cathedral. Lincoln is very like Chester, and for that matter, York.

It's lovely. Any historical landmarks in Manchester have been swallowed up in the metropolis so I really appreciate this type of architecture. That's one of the reasons I fell in love with Yorkshire.
Looking forward to no 3 ! xx
GODS OWN COUNTY IS YORKSHIRE hows things cat3 it is hot here in thailand.
Frank Sidebottom, lol ! Can't stop laughing about this, Cat !
Fantastic !
: )) x
No, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I first saw it. It's in quite a quaint village in Timperley where I was born, a couple of miles from where I live now, and looked quite ridiculous. Thankfully, it's gone now.
I feel bad now demeaning it 'cause I've just Googled it and I didn't realise it was a tribute to Chris Sievey, the musician, who was also born in Timperley and who invented Frank Sidebottom as his alter-ego. It cost £60.000 and was cast in bronze.
He released an alternative version to The Kinks 'Waterloo Sunset' which featured a video and was renamed 'Timperley Sunset'. xx
Awesome! I looked at it twice before I realised you were peeking!
I didn't even see you were peeking til I read it! Doh!!!!!!
Lincoln looks fab x Janet
Strange the way our brain works now. The first thing I thought was why was there a statue of Kenneth Connor from "Carry on Cleo" in the street
