Occipital neuralgia

A quick question has anyone had Occipital neuralgia due to Gamma Knife. Thats what they think is going on with me sure would love to hear from anyone who has delt with this. Thank You,

Hi Nks

I haven't had gamma knife, I had coiling and I didn't even know what occipital neuralgia was until I googled it! But I will defintely be talking to neurologist (when I get to see them!) about it.

The symptoms totally fit mine, severe pain in neck, burning, prickling intense headaches etc. Mine are so bad for the last 2 weeks that I can only sit with my head unsupported for about 20 minutes. I am so frustrated as it is utterly debilitating, and basically stops me from doing anything. I am soo fed up of laying down!!

How does it affect you?

I totally understand. I hope you are able to get an answer soon. Mine has been going on for 16 months and I have tried a lot of different meds nothing has worked. I am waiting to get in to try the nerve block and to have another MRI to make sure I do not have brain swelling from the gamma knife. I wish you all the best and Prayers you feel better soon.

Sorry I missed part of your question. I have a headache all the time but when I bend my head over the pain intensify and I get a very sharp pain in my right eye. I have an area on the back of my head that hurts and it shoots to the right eye.

Yeah i can relate to that, except left eye with me. Also my scalp is so tender it hurts to brush my hair.

Do you get dizzy too?
