Well, today (12th Dec) is the official day of wearing a Christmas jumper.

As you can see in the picture, I am wearing one of mine :). Oh, and I also got a haircut today :).

I can never see the point of Xmas jumpers...but as they go yours is actually quite nice.

Thanks, iforget. :). Why can you never see the point in Christmas jumpers? They keep you warm, like everyday jumpers do, but have a christmas image on them.

I think its because they have limited use if they are Christmas jumpers... Apart from the tasteful winter designs, it always seems a bit daft to see them being worn after the first week of January...and some are obviously novelty jumpers and just too silly to wear anywhere outside the home.

I am horrified at the price of these things too...happy to pay whatever for a nice warm jumper that can be worn anywhere but would not pay more than a couple of quid for a jumper that had a red nose reindeer or Santa on it... and I would only buy one as a joke.

But that's just me... Bah Humbug ;)

Rules are different for children of course...like temper tantrums, they can get away with it because they are cute ;)

I can understand why you dont see the point in them. You cant always wear them or it would seem daft if you do. One chilly night in Summer and you decide to put a Rudolph jumper on. I would wear them inside the house at random times of the year if I wanted to but not go out in public though with them on :).

I like your Christmas jumper matt and the smart haircut. I might get one if there going cheap.they're starting to reduce them now lol.

I've got a big day today.got to last/cope a whole day.were celebrating my mum n dads 50th wedding anniversary and it starts about 11 before dinner till later tonite.head banging stuff for me ouch!!

Christmas jumper or dress?wot u think?

Thanks :). You might get one? What a haircut? Haha. Only joking, I know you mean the jumper.

Congratulations to your mum and dad. Christmas jumper is good for keeping warm but a dress looks nicer and more presentable. You might want to wear both haha. Where a dress for the most part and if you get chilly then put on a Chirstmas jumper :).

Where abouts are you from, Karen? It has to be more North than me cos I am slap bang on the southern coast in a town called Gospit... I mean Gosport haha.

I had a walk the other day around the block and I think it was trying to snow, I saw tiny flakes coming down. Havent seen any ice yet. There probably is ice around but I havent been anyway near any, I dont like the ice.

in reply toMatt2584

You must have your crystal ball out. Yes i am more north.

heard of Gosport but don't know whereabouts it is. I'm in Market Drayton Shropshire but i originally come from Madeley Nr Crewe

Its very icy here today!skating weather!

Crystal ball, not really. I live in a town right next to the Southern coast and you said it was icy and cold where you were so I took a wild guess and assumed you were more north than me :).

Gosport is just above the Isle of wight and to the west of Portsmouth. Portsmouth harbour is in the way which is a shame cos then people would get much easier access to Portsmouth that way. We have to travel by ferry to get quicker access to Portsmouth but have no car and if you want to drive in Portsmouth you have to come out of Gosport and drive around the harbour just to get there which can take 20-30 minutes, maybe more!

Speaking of icy weather. I remember when we went on holiday to the Lake district. The place where we stayed was just down the road from a very steep hill/bridge and my mum was saying "imagine what this would be like in Winter". You could slide down to the bottom if you wanted to go to the shops but would have a terrible time getting back to where you were staying haha, and I dont think there was any rails to hold on to!

in reply toMatt2584

The lake district is lovely isn't it.i remember its nice for three things:-

the scenery

the Kendal mint cake

the Cumberland crayons!

i used to do alot of art years ago and even started a degree in it but my heart isn't in it now-not an intended pun.

anyway better dry my hair ready for this shindig.catch u later

From what I saw of the Lake district, mit is lovely. I didnt see a great deal of it because we cut our journey short because my shunt had blocked up... Once again :(. We tokk home a bit of Kendel mint cake and that is lovely too :).

in reply to

Lol Karen you need to buy them in the Jan sales but then not forget where you have put it by next Christmas! :o

in reply to

Too true hedgehog good idea that is cos they never go out of fashion do they.i find my brain doesn't think of the obvious like that then i go oh yeah good idea lol!

in reply to

I'm the same. Sometimes people say something so obvious and I think oh why didn't I think of that! :D

in reply to

When someone asks why i didn't do something i always blame my brain like in blaming another person lol

my brain didn't think of that...

do you?

i should give him a name!

funny i think hes male lol

Matt2584 profile image
Matt2584 in reply to

A female body with a male brain haha. Unfortunately for some, I am a male body with male brain :).

Sometimes I dislike it when a female might say that all men are the same and things like that cos it makes me think "I tought women were supposed to be equal to men. Whatever a man can do a woman can do".

There are men who talk low of women and women who talk low of men but I try to see them in the same light really. I dont bother complaining about the sexes. Im a pretty neutral person at times :).

I do not think of my brain as another person, I havent really thought of it like that. I suppose you end up getting out of something that way though.

Two brothers are playing. There's a smash. Mum finds her favourite vase had in bits and she asked in an angry voice who did it, the two boys would point at each other and say "He did it". But you couldnt quite do that with your brain though haha.

Point to your head and say "He did it".

in reply toMatt2584

Matt i agree women and men are equal totally but i think when i don't know if something is male or female i automatically call it a he-just the silly way im made

in reply to

This will probably sound weird Karen, but I feel sorry for my brain! Almost like he/she/it gets blamed for everything.

I kind of think of my brain as an injured pet or something :o So try to be kind to it!

in reply to

Yes i should do really instead of blaming the poor thing for everything

besides its got got a hard job to do coping with me n my thoughts!

tlc it needs:)

roads are so slippy.on our way late to this meal!

Matt2584 in reply to

Thanks margo and yes, it can be a bit chilly around the ol' bonce when out and about which is lucky that I have a christmas hat... a couple of them actually... and a scarf :). Ive got one of those deer stalker hats that I havent actually worn out in public yet. I got it cheap and it is nice and warm. It definitely keeps your ears warm :).

Very smart and Christmassy Matt

Altho I have to agree with iforget on only being able to wear them for a couple of weeks a year! I guess they will last for ages that way tho!

I have a hedgehog jumper :D not a Christmas hedgehog either so can be worn whenever I am brave enough to wear it in public! :o

Thanks Hedgy :).

Well I wear christmas jumpers a couple of weeks plus another couple of weeks in a year. Basically for 4 weeks. I and my family celebrate christmas from the beginning of Dec to the end.

in reply toMatt2584

You sound like my daughter!

Christmas for her is from the 1st of Dec until the middle of Jan!

Ever tried dusting a Christmas tree :o

Matt2584 profile image
Matt2584 in reply to

I cant say that I have tried dusting a christmas tree haha. I leave my mum to do the tree, and dusting or however she cleans it, if she cleans it.

Middle of Jan! Well that beat me then haha. Some start celebrating christmas in November!
