Huge chip on my shoulder

And I can't seem to shift it. It makes me into something that I don't like, and I don't know how to shift it.

Moving on is blooming difficult.

Try to accept that you're not the person U used t be & U never will be the person U had planned t be. You can still achieve & you can still lead a good life but U have t move on an stop thinking, if only it happened t you / why did it happen etc etc. Unfortunately it did & U have to accept it & enjoy the rest of your life as best U can ;o)

Harder to do when you're a young adult I think. But Ben you are achieving so much, try to focus on what you are achieving and "let go" of what you see as your shortcomings.

I would love to be able to run again, at 61 it wouldn't have been a pretty sight anyway, but I get the urge sometimes when out walking to do that. So, we've purchased a treadmill for me and I practice walking as fast as I can on it, only got to 3 miles an hour at present, when I feel able, but I'm going to persevere and hopefully my balance will improve enough to reach that speed outside on my own.

So, big hug for you for where you are, perseverance is key, lacrosse and degree course, it will come for you, patience is hard to come by when you are young, cut yourself some slack, but don't forget to keep striving xxxxx Janet

Hi Ben

Sorry you are in such a dark place. I think a lot of us here can empathise with how you are feeling. I think it is important for us to acknowledge our feelings of bitterness/injustice, trying to suppress them just makes them worse in my opinion.

Try to find someone safe (headway helpline is good) to express your frustration to, better out than in as they say :)

Hang in there Ben and be kind to yourself.

You're young enough to benefit, hopefully, from advances in medical science in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, try to think of life as a lottery where anyone, at any time, can be 'snuffed out' (sorry everyone) and the reverse of that fact is that those with known issues are less at risk of expiring than those with unknown ones.

I think I can see you shaking your head Ben, but it makes sense to me.

I wish you had a protective shell to keep your anxiety at bay though ; I really feel for you. xx
