I have been waiting for 6 months for a ATOS assessment only to get a letter last Friday saying,
we have now received more information and WE NO LONGER NEED YOU TO COME FOR THIS ASSESMENT,
and to contact jobcentre plus, I wonder what the more information is, after all they are miracle workers ? you go for an assessment sick disabled dying and come out fit for work, they work more miracles than
JESUS but then look what happened to him he was crucified may be that is a good ending for ATOS ,AMEN

Well, I took my decision to appeal and it was upheld, in fact the judge and doctor said they recommended I was not reassessed, but guess what, they are reassessing me a week on Monday, yes the bank holiday!
Job centre plus said it was only a recommendation so they are going to have me reassessed!! Bear in mind I'm now 61 and get my pension in 15 months, and nothing's changed other than I can cope a bit better with the new me, still doesn't mean I can work though!!!!!
I WAITED 3 MONTHS BUT MANAGED TO ARRANGE A HOME VISIT. DOC WHO CAME WAS PLEASANT & EFFICIENT BUT NOT A NEURO. I'M STILL WAITING FOR THE REPORT BUT I MAY HAVE SAID I DIDN'T WANT TO SEE IT, I CAN'T REMEMBER. I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING SO THEY MUST BE HAPPY THAT I REALLY AM A LOST CAUSE.
Maybe it is connected with the decision by ATOS to quit the contract a year early?
There was an interesting post on the Anxiety Support forum on HealthUnlocked about ATOS "Stressful, Insensitive, Inaccurate and Unfair" with a link. Apparently part of MINDs campaigning.
I'll repeat their warning that the clip contains discussions of suicidal emotions of real people but played by actors. Don't view if you might be upset by the above!
I telephoned them they said after they had received a letter from my doctor they have now sent all the paperwork back to the DWP and there was nothing to worry about?, they said it would take about 4 to 6 weeks for the DWP to write to me , so I don't know what the decision will be from the
DWP ? watch this space.
Well that sounds positive, I hope it turns out well. I'll keep a pair of fingers crossed for you.
When my other half moved to ESA I argued that she thrived on positive feedback and that anything which put her attention on her disabilities would be distressing for her and could send her into depression. GP must have supported that view, so no interview.
It could be that they have received sufficiently detailed information to put you into the "support" group or more likely the "work related activity group (WRAG) since you need to contact the job centre
I contacted the job centre they did not know anything about it they gave me a telephone for the DWP
who said they did not have any information from ATOS and to phone them ATOS said it would take up to 6 weeks for me to get a decision , I have been in WRAG and have applied for ESA.
Sounds to me like you have been lucky and don't need the assessment - they are satisfied with the information that's already been supplied and that you will go into support group.
If however they have accepted your ill but put you in work related activity group, unless you feel fit enough for some type of work I would appeal that decision.
Your money should increase following this assessment either way.
got my letter today I am in the WRAG I am going to appeal I don't think ATOS has even read my application and evidence that I sent + my condition has deteriated since I applied in November 2013
I've been waiting since January for an appointment too. They really are the worst company I can think of. I was classed fit for work in January. Since had a hip operation and 4 neurology appointments (I've had nuero-surgery twice). My wife has had to take on a full time job due to the short fall in income, so she's not here to keep an eye on me, whilst I'm shipped off daily to my mum's (who's 79) to look after me.
ATOS is such a good name for a company that doesn't give one. (A toss).
