Just a quick message to say how much we are hoping that Michael Schumacher makes a good recovery from his brain injury, after a skiing accident yesterday. Our thoughts are with his family. It really does make you realise that this can happen anywhere, anytime, and to anyone. Get well soon x

Our thoughts are with his family too just as they are with all affected by brain injury. hope he has the maximum possible recovery just as I hope that for all of us. Being high profile makes him no more important than the rest of our community (to which he belongs now) but it may help to raise awareness of brain injury. x

According to Sky News its a left side injury. I hope that Richard Hammond of Top Gear who lauded his 'head injury' and 'miraculous recovery' is taking note what Schumacher is going through - rather than using it as a vehicle for advertising oneself.

Yes, it's the family who suffers most at this point (as I recall) and I'm sure everyone wishes them courage at this frightening and uncertain time.

There has been a report of an intervention during the night to remove clots and a very slight improvement on a subsequent scan so fingers collectively crossed.

I wish him and his family all th best because I know that they are at the beginning of a massive roller coaster ride they can't get off.

There have been other celebrities and sports people who have been injured and maybe they can offer some words of wisdom to Michael family, I am thankfully that my family didn't have to go through this awful time in the throng of press and photographers etc..

We come on here to share our own stories and experiences and no doubt for me I wanted to know what why and when everything would return to the way it was. By sharing we are helping others and supporting the writer too.

By reading the book by Richard Hammond I got an insight into what my family had been through.

I think all survivors have something to bring to the table.
