Hello everyone,
We've had a busy week at Headway, and wanted to update you all on some of our activities and new information on our website.
- Prince Harry officially opens our premises
Yesterday, Prince Harry officially opened Bradbury House, the hub of the UK-wide charity, following in the footsteps of his mother Princess Diana who was Royal Patron of the charity from 1991 to 1996.
We had an amazing day, with hundreds of local school children and guests greeting the Prince, before he toured our premises speaking to people with a brain injury, family members and carers, as well as Headway staff and other guests. He took a genuine interest in the work we do, and the event will help to raise awareness of Headway and brain injury.
You can read all about the day and see photos at: headway.org.uk/news/headway...
- Approved Provider survey
We are looking to gather feedback from people who have used our Approved Provider directory to find details of residential care unit for someone who has had a brain injury. To do this, we have put together a very short online survey.
If you have used our directory, please visit headway.org.uk/news/have-yo... to find out more and take part.
- New information on Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
As many of you know, Personal Independence Payment will replace Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for working age adults. The new benefit has already begun for new claimants in some areas of the country, and existing claimants of DLA will be reassessed in the coming months.
To help you understand how the changes will affect you, we have put together a brief guide on our website.
Go to headway.org.uk/personal-ind... to find out more.
- Thank you!
