Hi Barny, I love soups too so this is a shame, now if you have corn flour on a regular basis I would look for other ingredients like rapeseed oil which seems to cause IBS like symptoms in some people, I have a really bad reaction to these organic vegetables pates like mushroom pate which I love on toast but it's like I've had a super laxative afterwards. The ingredient that causes this is palm oil.

Now I've read that many coeliac do not absorb fat well so too much for us to absorb acts like a laxative which's the issue that many coeliac have to gf breads like Genius.

The other thing that we have to be careful of is not to blame all stomach upsets with the dreaded gluten as even wheaties get upset stomachs from time to time. It also depends on how you reheated the carton of soup as you could have suffered cross contamination from various sources like a micro wave oven to a dish or cutlery. So I'd try some again but maybe have a smaller portion or try a different brand of soup.

Jerry,

Very good point you make which I totally agree with - it is all too easy to blame everything on gluten. Sometimes we just get sick for any number of reasons!

Hi Barny

Recall you mentioned once before you had problems with dairy - soup contains cream and in fact most soups are full of milk, so that may be the culprit.
