This piece of research from Sweden, carried out following an 'epidemic' in diagnosed cases of children with Coeliacs, concludes that careful introduction of small amounts of gluten foods, alongside breastfeeding, reduces the number of cases of children diagnosed with Coeliacs.

What's your view? Does this surprise you? It's common practice now to hold back on feeding nuts, strawberries and other foodstuffs that could cause a reaction in infants, till they are past 2yrs or more. This Swedish study on the timescales of introducing gluten foods makes interesting reading.
