Chappattis

Hi I’m wondering if anybody here eats chapattis daily? I’ve stopped eating then obviously more because of the gluten but I know I can buy flour and make them. But it would be ideal if I could have ready ones! Can anybody help?🙂

Corn tortillas?

in reply topvanderaa

Hi and thanks for your reply. I read up on them and guess what? They’re arriving tomorrow 😂

That goes to show how much I want to have anything similar to a chappatti !

I used to love chapattis. Made them myself. With some potato masala.

No more. I still make dosai and idli but it’s not the same when you are craving whole wheat flour.

Some say we crave what we are allergic to. The gut biome bacteria have something to say to the subject as well.

I’m always looking for a good dosai now. Made with oil not ghee due to dairy (casein protein) issues as well.

So what did you think of the corn tortillas? Not quite the same. May take some getting used to?

Did you fry them up a little in a frying pan/griddle like a chapatti?

I have not seen gf chapattis, but Genius produce gf pitta breads which I have bought in Morrisons and Tesco. Not bad, and better than nothing....

in reply toAitjk

Hi Aitjk. Yes it’s the genius pitta that I have at the moment. And yes it’s better than nothing like you said. But nothing can beat a chapatti with an Indian meal lol

Have you experimented with making your own from GF flour? Dove Farms flour apparently is quite trustworthy as milled in separate facility. It's called Freee.

Not what you're looking for?
