Hi, I have been looking to reduce the sugar I use (mainly in hot drinks) and am wondering which are best to use in a gf diet as I am not sure about ingredients in some I have seen, any info on this most welcome thank you

How about cutting out sugar and not replacing it with anything artificial?
I have tried to cut sugar out. Years ago I changed to Raw Sugar, the cane sugar not the beet type. Coming from a country where sugar cane is grown, we used to suck on the cane when it was cut. Raw sugar, still has all the goodness in it, molasses has not been extracted, so the iron content is still high, it has not been refined in any way.
I have tried the natural alternatives Stevia and the like, but these leave a metallic taste behind and in cooking, well let's not go there. I wont touch artificial sweetners with a barge pole, as an experiment years ago we set out a saucer full of aspartame sweetener to see if we could catch a rat. We caught the rat, dead with it's head in the saucer, this was enough to convince me that artificial sweetners are not good for you, not matter what is claimed.
With raw sugar you do not need a teaspoonful if that is what you use in cuppa, you need half.
I know people will say cut the sugar out, but there are natural sugars in a lot of the food we eat, so you are getting sugar one way or the other.
In Singapore you can buy sugar cane drink, this with ice is so refreshing on a very hot day. It also has the fibre content .
Has there been any research done on the nutritioonal value of raw sugar =vs= refined sugar? Or to the ant sugar brigade all sugars are the same? I am playing Devil's Advocate here.
We go without enough because of our GF intolerance, why take everything away?
We do not eat any processed food in this house and I refuse to buy in the free from Ranges on offer. I make my own, using the best ingredients I can afford. I also use butter, Rapeseed Oil, Palm Sugar, Coconut Oil in my cooking. No margarines, it is one molecule away from becoming plastic. Just my opinion.
I use a small amount of honey. It tastes much better than sugar - of course it's more expensive but you don't need much.
I use stevia leaf, which is a bit 'bitty' but has a very moorish taste to it. My wife make lovely biscuits using rice flour eggs, rape seed oil and stevia leaf. For my weekly rice pudding I use ground stevia leaf and a spoonful of rice flour with the rice and soya milk, the rice flour helps to thicken the pudding. I have ceased using sugar as it plays havoc with the spirochetes and stevia being an antimicrobial helps a lot.
I have tried all of the above and have moved on to xylitol. It tastes like sugar with no after taste. It is supposedly good for teeth and does not cause sugar spikes . I am not an expert but am trying different things as I find it hard not to have sugar my OH is also diabetic and it is suitable for sufferers. It is also quite expensive at £2.60 for small bag at Sainsburys. I am embarrassed to say I bought large bags online but my cuppa is very satisfying with no nasty symptoms ☕️👍
