Pill to end life

I do have a big concern. I was told by my doctors and also palliative care, that there is a pill to take to end your life. My doctors won’t give to me without chemo and radiation, however. I think it’s important to be able to have one as soon as possible. If I have a stroke or other disturbing effects, I may want to end my life. I don’t like the idea of depending on anyone to help me be able to get through each day. I also don’t like the idea of me losing my proper speech again, and then they could get away with giving me another surgery, which I do not want.

So I’m wondering how I can get it. Could a general practitioner, who has nothing to do with cancer, give me the prescription? I guess I need to call a bunch of them to find out.

hello Spinninghands. I’m not sure about the pill you refer to but didn’t want your post going unanswered. What I do know is that you can sign a Do Not Resuscitate or Advanced Descion to refuse treatment form that will ensure you only get the medical intervention you want and not more. The MacMillan nurses should help you with the form and they advise to complete sooner rather then later and to discuss it with any family.

All the best.
