I had a trabeculectomy in my left eye on 16th September. For the first week my eye was sore and uncomfortable, which I am sure is normal. At my 2nd follow up appointment my surgeon put in a bandaged contact lens due to a small leak from one of the sutures. The good news - it immediately made my eye more comfortable and was a huge relief! At my third follow up appointment today, the contact lens was removed as the leaking seems to have stopped. Unfortunately this has made my eye really sore again. It hurts when I blink and my eyes sting when administering eye drops. I know the op was only two weeks ago, so it is early days, but I just wanted to check that this is normal. Thank you. Sue

Hi Sue, I would recommend you contact the eye unit or hospital to report your current situation. Need to be erring on side of caution. I had a Trabeculectomy in June. Other than blurred vision, did not experience any other problems. Trust you are not lifting or bending! Angela
If the discomfort went when you had a bandage lens in it may be that you are feeling the sutures in your eye when you blink. When they are removed this should improve.
