Ocular hypertension

Hi all. After recently getting my first floaters I went to see the optician who noticed my eye pressures are also raised. I was referred to a specialist who confirmed my pressures are climbing and are getting a bit too high at 35 and 30, especially as I also have quite thin corneas. He has prescribed me monopost and advised me to get clued up on ocular hypertension. Has anyone else tried monopost and has it been effective for you? Assuming it works as described, how much can I expect it to lower the pressure? Thanks.

I was monitored for high eye pressures around 20s levels. I have been using Monopost for about six months or so. Last check with eye technician showed a slight reduction in pressures but not dramatic. The doctor seemed happy with that. Further check in six months. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will stay at lower levels. I also discuss my results with Specsavers when I go for my sight checks as I don’t always get the full picture at the hospital as they just send a brief summary.

Hi there. I have spoken to many people who are using Monopost drops and said that it is helping their pressures. However, everyone is different. Your eye specialist will monitor your pressures at your next appointment and then decide whether or not to change your drops or perhaps combine your monopost with another drop.

Hi, I have ocular hypertension with pressures, initially, of 28/34 on referral. I was given Latanoprost (monoprost has no preservative) and it did bring the pressure down reasonably well. I have since had selective laser trabeculectomy (SLT) carried out and this also brought the pressures down, although how long for is unknown at the moment as I'm due a check up soon. It's difficult to say how much lower the pressures will drop as everyone is different but if you follow what the consultant advises all should, hopefully, be well. It's a bit of a bumpy ride and I found that I had to do a lot of googling to fully understand what OH was. Apart from a few leaflets I didn't receive much info from the hospital so now I write what I want to know down and question them at my appointment.

Not what you're looking for?
