Anyone stuck on prednefrin Forte years after Trabeculectomy surgery ??

Hello guys,

Names Colin, from Sydney Australia aged 30 I have Uveitis glaucoma . I had undertaken Trabeculectomy surgery 4 years ago now. My vision was extremely blurry post opp, the doctors informed me my eye vision would return back to normal after a few months, unfortunately the clear vision never returned.

I also had to undergo Ptosis surgery twice due to eye lid being stretched during trab surgery.

I'm currently on Prednefrin forte once a day (4pm) and Virgan eye ointment before i sleep.

i was meant to get off the Prednefrin Forte 3 months after surgery but my eyes would go red and swell up and give me a very bad migraines and my upper eye lid comes down as well by the afternoon of each day until I use the pred forte drops.

I've been on the drops for 4 years now, i have now been diagnosed with cataracts due to the extended use of PRED FORTE.

My question today, is anyone's eyes getting inflamed after Trabeculectomy surgery ? And are you required to use anti inflammatory drops (Prenefrin forte) every day to reduce swelling ?

Hello Colin, I dont have all the symptoms you mention, but do have blurred vision in the eye I had the Trab in 18 months ago !

Sorry to hear, yeah I was told the vision would come back, but unfortunately it didn’t, they tell me it’s due to the low eye pressure of 6… now I mostly use my right eye for vision.

I do hear that some cases vision came back after 24 months, so keep positive and I hope your vision returns.
