Advice for severe fungal nail infection

Have had a toenail infection for years and cannot take Terbinafine as doctor advised it was causing liver toxicity. Podiatrist told me to treat with Vicks vapour rub but this hasn't helped apart from improving the appearance of my toes, presumably because of the moisture. Does Itraconazole have the same liver toxicity?

Toenail infections can be stubborn. Personally, I would hesitate to treat an infection that we can apply a topical cream to using a potent oral antifungal drug as they can have many side effects, so I would try a few creams first, so please persevere with your doctor as there is a lot they can do.
