Do you live in Scotland if so ,would you like to join a patient information group? Good luck with the hospital visit. It is a very special place with such wonderful expertise .

No. Live in darkest, deepest, South West Wales - right on the edge - next stop Florida - after about 5000 miles or whatever it is!

Hello - I live in Scotland and would like to join the group? Thanks, Roz

Hi Rosalind. Great to meet you. Welcome. Do you have either an Aspergilloma or Aspergillosis? If so welcome to the minority - although there are some smaller groups having either of these seems to leave you feeling left out - especially when your GP's surgery admit to knowing - in fact having never heard of this.

Hope joining this group helps you.

Sian

I've been attending Wythenshawe for a couple of years now and they are marvellous! They have improved my quality of life significantly. All the staff (doctors, nurses, physio etc) all work in conjunction with one another and without exception are professional, committed and caring. While they don't have a magic wand (I wish), I have utmost confidence in them and if anyone can do it - Wythenshawe can!! Good luck on your visit. It will be well worth it.

I do hope you get a great outcome . Being a patient at this hospital, gives you so much more confidence in managing your care. They are all just fab. Try and join a local, patient information forum once you have been to see folks at Wythensawe. Good luck .

Ahh thanks. Just wondering if there is anyone who has been there who can tell me what to ask from questions they wish they had asked when they first went there. Or things I should do and take with me etc? All ideas welcome.

Love and hugs to you all

Hello - great news about your appointment! Are you in Scotland? We're you referred to Manchester by your own doctor? Hope it goes well. R😊

No I live in South West Wales. My consultant eventually referred me. thankfully, I was already in contact with a British Lung Foundation (BLF) nurse who told me I ought to get a referral there. Because the NHS in Wales is devolved I also had to get funding approved but that didn't hold anything up. As this is the only centre of excellence in the whole of the UK I had a right to be referred there wherever I lived in the UK. I imagine your GP could also refer you.
