I have just been reading this after a conversation with my soninlaw (who has ME) about the similarities between ME, Fibromyalgia (which I have) and Long Covid. Seems it is possible that our immune systems have something to answer for

Some interesting new research into Fibromyalgia

I've long thought ME and fibro were undiagnosed autoimmune conditions or actual distinct autoimmune disorders. In my case it was undiagnosed ankylosing spondylitis, an auto inflammatory disease treated with immune suppressing drugs. Bloods always came back normal, no inflammation showing, MRI showed what was really going on... What's really annoying is that I told my GP in my very early 20s my body was attacking itself. Aged 42 I was proven correct! My rheumatologist said I'd never had ME, just undiagnosed AS. Yet when I recently saw another specialist in a different discipline she said "I see you have ME"! Obviously that's not been amended on my records!
