Pain in front of thighs
I get this too, its called Meralgia paresthetica. It's apparently caused by either the femoral nerve compressed due to being overweight or trauma/neuropathy, diabetes. A dr I went to blamed it on my weight but my sister has same problem and she's not overweight. I find ibuprophen gel or lidocaine patches help it a little.
Hello ! I have neuropathy for years. The front of my right thigh just started infrequent burning episodes for a few weeks now. Just before that, that side was starting to feel numb at night when i lay on that side.
I have no explanation except that i have neuropathy in feet, lately rising up legs stronger pain, mildly in hands , arms, face, mouth.
I turn onto left side sleeping more now and right side pain has stopped at night a few days now. In the past, ive read it is better for the body to sleep on left side...i prefer right side....moving around more in or out of bed best for our circulation.
I rub my thigh when it happens and it goes away pretty quickly. The neuropathy pain never goes away and im.still trying to figure out how to lessen effects.
Good luck and take care !
Hopinggh
Hi I have this too. Like someone else said it’s called Meralgia Paresthetica. I’ve had it just over a year. I had bad back pain about a month or so before I noticed it and went to an osteopath. I’m now wondering if it’s a trapped nerve. I do various exercises recommended to try and release the nerve but nothing works! I don’t want to take pain killers forever so I just learn to live with it unfortunately
