How many of you drag your feet?
Hi there hope you're ok and the answer to your question is yes I do drag my right leg
So much so it has made me fall several times now and I’ve had to put stair lifts into my house as this made stairs dangerous for me
I’ve no idea what has caused this they just told me at kings it’s part of Fnd and it’s a long term condition here is a website off you go
Yes, I drag my left foot - actually the whole left side of my body. I only have FND on the left - the right side of my body is completely normal. I wear a brace on my left leg to stop me from tripping. Before that I was constantly spraining/fracturing my foot/ankle.
Hello Van604 This is something I don't relies that I was doing until my wife told me ,I do try and listen to my self walking now and try to correct my walking .
Agree with Van, that was one of the first symptoms that my son had. Vaguely recall having physio for a few weeks for flat footedness and wearing arch supports. Also had an xray (nothing wrong). Symptom just went away.
If its not bothering you just ignore it. Another member said he just clicked his fingers (external focus and sound - another sense) and then fine. Or even sway your arms, more vestibular input, movement.
I do this on my right side and I don’t know I am doing it. Sometimes walking up stairs I drag my leg up and scuff my shoes.Thank you for bringing this up as reading your post and others replies makes me feel less alone. My hubby and others often tell me but it’s not something that is easy to change when you don’t know and I stupidly tried looking at my feet as self conscious and found I went flying 🤦♀️ Slowing down can help a little but very little. I have just learned to embrace it and when people say about it I no longer apologise I just say having a off day and shrug it off.
Yes Littlecook, I do this and it is fairly common with FND. Left side for me but it is worse if I overly focus on it.
yes , I do this quite a lot , I am told it is my FND. I do it more with my right leg , it seems my foot drops hence the dragging.
At can be alarming, I have learnt that if I except although I admit upsetting, it can go, just as quickly as it comes.
Just my experience, hope yours settles down , oh yes I am concentrating on lifting my knee more when it happens.
